Labor rejects nurses' claim

Issue

The Tasmanian state Labor government has rejected a claim by public sector nurses to bring their pay and conditions in line with their mainland counterparts.

The claim was for 14 weeks' parental leave; an extra weeks' leave for nurses working five or more public holidays a year or more than 20 weekend shifts a year; and a 10% increase in wages per year for the next three years.
