Judith Lucy in Melbourne

Supporting Julian Clary (a gay comedian known as "Britain's Second Favourite Queen") on a recent tour was a particularly pleasurable experience for feminist comedian Judith Lucy.

In a scene still dominated by humour of the lowest common denominator (sexist, racist, heterosexist) being a woman with hairy armpits hasn't been easy. Judith has been working the Melbourne comedy scene for about three years now and has also been involved in other theatre projects such as her highly successful one woman show at La Mama last season.

More recently she was invited to do a run at Perth's Artrage, and she appears regularly on the D-Generation's Thursday morning spot on radio.

Green Left is fortunate to have her services for a fundraiser to be held Thursday, November 14, at the Empress Hotel, Nicholson St, North Fitzroy. n
