IRAQ: Kidnapped journalist freed

Iraq correspondent for the British Guardian Rory Carroll was kidnapped by Shia gunmen in Baghdad on October 19 after conducting an interview with a victim of Saddam Hussein's regime in Sadr City. Carroll, who has been in Iraq since January, was released the following night. "I've been very well treated, apart from a bit of initial roughness when they first took me", he said on October 21.
