Iraq and Iran targeted for brutal treatment of women

On March 7 bus loads of members of the Worker Communist Party of Iraq, the Worker Communist Party of Iran and their supporters held demonstrations outside the Iraqi and Iranian embassies in Canberra. The demonstrations were organised to protest against the brutal treatment of women and girls in these countries. Representatives of the Construction, Forestry, Mining and Energy Union, the Democratic Socialist Party and the Labor Party also spoke against the atrocities.
