Teachers and public servants held a lunchtime protest outside the NSW government offices on July 3 to protest the O'Farrell Liberal-National government's attacks on public education and on public sector jobs.

Leaked documents show the Education Department will shed at least 2400 jobs over the next four years and slash by more than half its language and literacy programs for disadvantaged people. Other public sector jobs will be cut by more than the 10,000 announced in this year's budget on top of the 5000 announced last year.

Comments

The education department is bloated and needs to be culled. The federation is run like university politics. Nothing to see here.
