SYDNEY — Chanting "end nuclear testing, ban all nuclear weapons" at least 300 protesters took the anti-nuclear campaign to the French consulate on June 23. The picket brought together groups including the Anti-Bases Campaign, Pax Christi, Resistance, Aksi — Indonesian Solidarity, the International Socialists, the Democratic Socialist Party and a number of student unions. There was enthusiastic support for a rally on Bastille Day, July 14, at Town Hall Square. The demonstration moved to NSW ALP headquarters in Sussex Street to protest against the Labor government's inaction. Photo by Chris Spindler.
