Inspired by the Egyptian Tahrir Square uprising and the Spanish Indignado ('indignants'), the "Occupy" movement has spread to Wall Street and cities across the US and around the world, including to Australia. The new social movement, which is unfolding at breakneck speed, declares all those wronged by the corporate system as its allies. From Wall Street to Spain to Egypt people are coming together to challenge a system which benefits the wealthy 1% at the expense of the 99%.
Hear from Dick Nichols, socialist activist based in Barcelona, who will report directly from Spain on the rebellion across Europe, and Stuart Munckton, Green Left Weekly co-editor, plus view footage of the Occupy protests at Wall Street and beyond.
Dinner from 6pm, forum from 6:30pm
