This dramatic short film is the story of a determined group of women who made the first attempt to get work at the male-dominated Port Kembla steelworks in 1973. Their struggle laid the groundwork for the 1980s 'Jobs For Women' campaign that followed. From factory lock-ons to workplace tragedy, from consciousness raising to youth rebellion, it is an inspiring story of women struggling for equality. Bar and refreshments available from 5:30pm at Bella Union, film event starts 6:30pm. $20 (solidarity, $10 (regular), $5 (conc).
