Jandamarra, the Bunuba resistance warrior, led one of the most effective rebellions in the history of the First Nations resistance to European colonisation. He cannot accept the cruel and barbarous treatment of his people, and over 3 years he gains notoriety as a powerful yet elusive outlaw as he embarks on a guerilla war against vengeful pastoralists who are determined to punish and defeat the local tribes. Jandamarra's War is an inspiring, untold story of resistance and courage, a story we can all draw strength and inspiration from as we continue our struggle. Speakers and very special guests include Bunuba and Gooniyandi women who starred in the film. 6pm. MAYSAR gym, 186 Gertrude St, Fitzroy. For more info ph Viv Moore 0412 554 015.
