Film fanatics for Lex Wotton

— In late following the riots on Palm Island after death in custody of Mulrunji Doomadgee in 2004. Wotton was charged under anti-rioting legislation.

Sydney's inner-west Film Fanatics has made an appeal to Queensland's governor Penelope Wensley to consider a "plea for mercy" and grant clemency to Wotton, with the belief that the traumatic history of Palm Island since 1916 is the real precursor to the tragic events of 2004.

As part of the campaign for justice for Wotton, Film Fanatics will screen Lousy Little Sixpence on February 24 at the Petersham Bowling Club. See calendar on page 23 for details.
