Why
Sunday March 29, 2-4pm.
Starting at Hyde Park
Come find out about Sydney's feminist history — the women, queers and the militant class struggle events excluded from the annals of public memory because they challenge the order of establishment patriarchal governments.
A feminist people's history walk, this expedition will stop at Aboriginal and women convict rebellion sites, locations of queer uprisings, migrant women uprising mementos and sites of women's literary and journalistic endeavours.
This inspiring tour will demonstrate that feminist resistance, revolts, and robust opposition are part of our people's uprising heritage.
Feminist class struggle activists and authors will lead the walking tour through beautiful Hyde Park, the Barracks, and the top end of Sydney's CBD.
The tour will inform us about the women and queers who struggled against sexism and the elite to forge a more humane and socially just society.
This tour will take 2 hours. Water provided.
