Feminist to contest Wollongong seat

WOLLONGONG — Angela Luvera will be standing in Wollongong for the Democratic Socialists in the March 27 state election. Luvera, a student member of Resistance, helped organise the high school walkouts against racism earlier this year. She is an abortion rights activist and a member of the Reclaim the Night and International Women's Day organising collectives. Luvera will campaign against cuts to government services in the Illawarra and promote real solutions to unemployment, such as the nationalisation of BHP and a shorter work week with no loss in pay.
