SYDNEY — On May 19, two dozen activists, most members of the UTS queer group, gathered outside the Queen Victoria Building to call for the NSW parliament to pass a bill that would equalise the age of consent for gay and heterosexual sex. The bill has passed the lower house, but not yet the upper house.
