El Salvador: Appeal for donations for victims of floods and mudslides

November 14, 2009
Issue

Rains have caused 176 mudslides and 13 large floods in El Salvador. The town of San Vicente, was buried in mud and stones from the slopes of the Chinchontepec volcano.

Up to 200 Salvadorans have died, thousands have lost their homes and crops and face food shortages. Medical authorities are working to prevent dengue, the AH1N1 flu virus and malaria in the shelters.

El Salvador urgently needs assistance now to help the victims of the floods and mudslides. Donate to the Central American Association for Integral Development (an Australian organisation) who will pass on all funds to Fudecom, a medical aid community organisation in El Salvador currently working in the flood and mudslide affected areas.

Bank account details are: Central American Association for Integral Development; Westpac; BSB 033505; ac# 103321.
