ADELAIDE — Green Left Weekly will present a cultural evening as part of Feast, Adelaide's annual lesbian and gay cultural festival. "Dance Proud, Fuck Safe, Make Revolution" will include a screening of Stonewall, a film about the events leading to the Stonewall riot in 1969, in which customers at a New York gay bar fought back against police harassment. A '70s disco will follow.

Bronwen Beechey, one of the organisers of the event, explained told Green Left Weekly: "The recent attacks on IVF access for lesbians prove that there is still a lot to fight for in the struggle for gay and lesbian liberation. Green Left Weekly's taking the struggle to the streets every week is invaluable."

Beechey urged "all who support the independent media to join Green Left Weekly in a cultural evening that will recapture the spirit of Stonewall!".

"Dance Proud, Fuck Safe, Make Revolution" will be held on Sunday, October 29, 7.30pm, at the Swingcat Cafe, 167 Hindley St. Phone 8231 6982 to book. The Feast festival will run from October 20 to November 12. It includes theatre, films, exhibitions, dance parties, forums and other events. For a program phone 8231 2155, or check out the Feast web site at <http://www.feast.org.au>.
