THE CUBAN REVOLUTION IN TODAY'S WORLD

Gadigal/Sydney

Why

Maritime Union of Australia, 365 Sussex Street, Sydney

Public meeting with Germán Hermin Ferrás Álvarez, director of the Asia-Oceania region in the International Relations Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba. Since the re-establishment of diplomatic relations between the United States and Cuba, there has been a common misconception that the US trade and financial blockade against Cuba has disappeared. But the US government still maintains its savage economic blockade against Cuba, still illegally occupies Cuban territory at Guantánamo Bay, and still has subversive policies aimed at ‘regime change’ in Cuba.

The Cuban government has made it clear that Cubans will continue to defend their sovereignty and their socialist revolution. This will never be open to negotiation. Germán is touring Australia at the invitation of the Communist Party of Australia. We invite you to take this opportunity to hear from and ask questions of a representative of the Cuban revolutionary leadership.

6pm reception followed by 6.30pm program. Sponsored by Australia Cuba Friendship Society.
