Cuba solidarity petition

Issue

SYDNEY — For 44 years Cuba has stood firm against a blockade enforced on it by successive US administrations. This blockade restricts travel to Cuba and denies the people access to medicines, food and other trade.

The Bush administration has stepped up measures to attack the Cuban Revolution and enforce US domination in the region. In spite of great hardships, the revolution has resulted in outstanding achievements in social programs, health and education, unequalled in the Americas.

In November this year the United Nations General Assembly will again vote on the US blockade against Cuba. Cuba solidarity groups are coordinating a nationwide petition of the United Nations to support an international campaign to lift the embargo.

To find out more or to add your name to the petition, visit the Australia-Cuba Friendship Society website at <http://sydney-acfs.org/petition/>. Your confidential signature on this petition will express your firm solidarity with the Cuban people. To get involved in current campaigns to oppose the US blockade, contact the Australia-Cuba Friendship Society in your state.
