Counter-protest dwarfs climate denier rally

Issue

About 6000 people rallied outside PM Julia Gillard’s Melbourne office on March 12 for an emergency action on climate change. The rally was organised by GetUp!

Publicity for the rally did not explicitly refer to the proposed Labor/Greens carbon price. But at the rally itself, the organisers campaigned for the carbon price plan as the most effective way to deal with climate change.

Many at the rally had concerns with the proposed carbon tax, but mobilised in spite of this to call for urgent climate action.

Numbers at the rally were swelled in response to a protest planned by climate deniers for the same day addressed by Tony Abbott. Reports suggest about 200 people attended the climate denier rally.

Comments

400 people attended and it wasn't the main rally. The main one is in Canberra on March 23rd.

As evident by this article, the Left do not care for facts. "For the greater good" huh.

The Age had the number of Tony's deniers at 400 as well, but also had the numbers of the "Price on Pollution" rally at 8,000.

Anonymous either didn't attend the rally or may be gets his/her "facts" from Andrew Bolt
