Candle Day

Issue

Candle Day

Friday, October 23, is Candle Day — the day on which Amnesty International raises funds to support its humanitarian and human rights activities by selling badges.

Amnesty does not seek or accept funds from any government, believing that its financial independence is a necessary part of defending political prisoners wherever they may be.

Amnesty needs volunteers who can donate time on October 23 to sell a tray of badges on the street, or who can take a tray to sell in their workplace.
