CANBERRA — Preparations have begun to make the protests against US President George Bush as large as possible. Bush will visit Canberra sometime after the October 21 APEC meeting held in Bangkok, Thailand.

An informal meeting on September 11 was attended by 14 people from the Socialist Alliance, Socialist Alternative and the Australian National University environment collective. The meeting decided to make the upcoming ACT Network Opposing War meeting, which will be organising protests, as broad as possible and to circulate emails informing people about the upcoming protests.
