Students are expected to pay more and more for an eroding education system in Australia. We face rising HECS debts and diminishing income support.
The recent $2.8 billion cuts will only make this worse, as low-income students are pushed out of higher education.
Public education is under attack.
Curtin University is happy to go along with the trend, introducing measures like Pay As You Go Parking that only add to students’ problems. University is increasingly becoming a user-pays institution, available only to those who can afford it.
Join us by popping or releasing your ballooning HECS debt on June 5 as we continue to raise awareness and opposition to the education cuts.
Campus action against the cuts, Wednesday June 5, 1pm! At the Guild Agora (next to the main café).
