The Ghost of Health — This film argues that the World Health Organisation is furthering its own political agenda at the cost of lives. Millions of people worldwide rely on WHO for medical aid but its US$2 billion annual budget and 4500 staff have little impact. Diseases like smallpox, cholera and measles continue to kill, and simple vaccines and medicines never reach the sick. WHO spends $200 million a year on regional offices whose employees spend most of their time holding meetings, writing reports and attending conferences. SBS, Tuesday, July 30, 8.30pm.

A New World — A look at South Africa's enormous privately owned game reserves and the role they could play in the country's reconstruction. SBS, Wednesday, July 31, 7.30pm.
