Ambush in Mogadishu — On October 3, 1993, elite units of the US Army's Rangers and Delta Force were pinned down on the streets of Mogadishu by forces of the Somali militia leader Mohammed Farah Aideed. Seventeen hours later, 18 American soldiers were dead and 75 were wounded. It was later revealed that more than 1000 Somalis also died. The respected PBS Frontline team investigates the "peace-keeping" mission gone wrong and still haunts the US government. SBS, Saturday, September 2, 7.30pm.

Smallest Room in the House: Sue Anne Post — Australia's only six-foot tall, missing toothed, lesbian stand-up comic has a story to tell. She tells how a good Mormon girl with plaits became "a hard-drinkin', chain-smokin' old leso". ABC-TV, Tuesday, September 5, 11pm.
