The Boots Are Marching

EM = By Ken Setter

A million boots are marching

Treading new ground

And the earth trembles

If you want to live in peace they say

Prepare for war.

We have depleted the land

Poisoned the rivers

Still men around the leader

Shout as one

Prepare for war.

We have built machines to kill

Our bread is dry

Boots have no hearts to feel

Only tongues to shout

Prepare for war.

They move forward

Trampling opposition

I hear the boots at night say

You who want peace first you must

Prepare for war.

We built the ships and planes

Sacrificed our youth

Stored the bombs

We did all they asked

We prepared for war.

But where is the peace?

Where is the peace?
