Climate change is the hottest topic of the 21st century and the climate movement a significant global social movement. This book examines the broad context of Australian climate politics and the place of the climate movement within it. Authored by Verity Burgmann, Professor of Political Science in the School of Social and Political Sciences at the University of Melbourne, and Hans Baer, anthropologist and development studies specialist at the University of Melbourne, the study offers a vision for an alternative Australia based upon the principles of social equity and environmental sustainability.
