Black deaths in custody discussed

Issue

BRISBANE — "We need to organise the community to stop black deaths in custody. We need to give the families and loved ones of those killed all the support we can", Aboriginal activist Sam Watson told a May 12 suburban meeting to highlight Aboriginal deaths in custody.

The meeting was one of a series being organised around the city, following a 200-strong public meeting in Inala on April 14, to build the campaign to expose police harassment and violence against the Aboriginal community.
