Big leap in GLW website visitors

Issue

John Percy

Traffic on the Green Left Weekly website jumped significantly during March, with an average of 19,791 visitors to the site every day. This compares to the average number of visitors in the previous six months of about 11-12,000.

The number of hits, the number of files, the number of pages and the total kilobytes downloaded also rose in March. On average, more than four articles were read by each visitor. The top issues that brought readers to our site in March through search engines were: Evo Morales; abortion; Agent Orange; and Green Left Weekly.

The amount of material downloaded from our site in March was 33,571,760 kilobytes, and that's what our service provider charges us on. More hits and more visitors is good news, but it also means larger bills to pay, and more money we need to raise. So how about a donation, to help keep GLW expanding its coverage, on the streets and on the web?
