ASIET forum

CANBERRA — On June 17, 50 people attended a forum organised by Action in Solidarity with Indonesia and East Timor at the Australian National University. ASIET national secretary Max Lane, recently returned from Indonesia, spoke on the situation there and the need for active solidarity with the democracy movement.

He said that solidarity activists should focus on the campaign to free all political prisoners and lift the ban on the People's Democratic Party (PRD), and on Australian government ties with the dictatorship.
