Come to a workshop at an urban, organic, African farm run by a Congolese refugee! The farm grow African food for refugees in the area, with the aim of supplying traditional African vegetables to Sydney's migrant community. As climate change compels us to reduce carbon emissions, urban gardens that provide locally produced food are an important model to explore.
The workshop will feature talks from Mbuyi Tshielantende (African Food Project) and Nick Soudakoff (Socialist Alliance Spokesperson on Agriculture and organic farmer), and hands-on organic farming lessons....theory meets practice!
$12 or $6 con, cheap African lunch available, proceeds to the African Food Project and Green Left Weekly. Also supported by Parramatta Greens, Parra Climate Action Network & Socialist Alliance.
