Adios Adani! (A musical protest and fundraiser)

Thursday, February 23, 2017 - 20:30 to Friday, February 24, 2017 - 00:30

In association with Market Forces, this special event is to raise funds for the campaign to stop Adani from building their giant coal mine in central Queensland.

Proceeds (after event costs) will be split equally between the Wangan and Jagalingou people (traditional owners of the area Adani wants to mine) and Market Forces to support the campaign to stop Adani's mega mine.

The Wangan & Jagalingou people DO NOT want this mine on their land.

They need our support in their ongoing battle against a government that puts the interests of foreign coal companies ahead of Australian citizens. The proposed Adani Carmichael mine is a social and ecological disaster waiting to happen. At a time when we're facing a climate emergency, a new coal mine is the last thing we need. On top of this the mine itself will impact water supplies, including the Great Artesian Basin and the coal will be exported via an expanded port in the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Area (which will require dredging).

Your support will help the Wangan and Jagalingou people fund their campaign to stop Adani from accessing their land without their permission, and help Market Forces fund their campaign to stop the Adani mine from getting the financial support it needs to happen.

Join The Same Boat and fellow activist band B.O.S.S. (Beacon Of Sick Society) in a peaceful (but loud!) demonstration against the unthinkable.
