AGL recently announced they will be rehabilitating 16 already suspended coal seam gas wells and 1 producing well in the Camden Gas Project in 2017 however they are refusing to close down those gas wells closest to family homes in Spring Farm and Mount Annan until 2023. 22 CSG wells that have been drilled near homes. Some of the closest gas wells to homes have a history of water leaks, gas leaks, blow outs and accidents leading to injured workers.

On the Easter weekend, about 60 refugee activists, including members of Sydney RAC, traveled for over two days by bus to the Curtin detention camp in remote outback WA, as more than 300 asylum seekers staged a hunger strike and sit-in. In a separate visit, Jo Hind from Chil-Out has inspected conditions on Christmas Island. This public forum will hear eyewitness accounts, accompanied by photos, from these trips, and discuss conditions in Australia’s remote detention camps
