Peter Norman, the 1968 Mexico Olympic 200m Silver Medalist supported his two American Olympic medalists when they gave the black power salute at the podium. The American Track and Field Association has designated October 9 as Peter Norman Day to acknowledge his support for human rights. 12 noon. Bart Willoughby, a long-term Indigenous musician has played benefits for countless progressive causes. His recent heart 'event' shocked his friends and colleagues but a successful operation has focussed us on helping with a fundraising concert. Sunday afternoon, May 22 is going to be one of those unrepeatable showcases, replete with great Australian music and musicians. We hope to raise over $5000. Bart has had to cancel a lot of work.
