Uniting Communities Smthifield,
2/2B Morialta Drive (off Anderson Walk)

This is a forum for unemployed people and others on welfare payments to speak about what they want from the election and beyond.

Candidates will be invited to listen and respond – but the focus will be on those out of work speaking for themselves.

It is tough being unemployed. There are not enough jobs to go around. The data says there is only 1 job for every 5 job-seekers, 1 for every 11 if you include the underemployed. The situation is getting worse. Especially in SA.

There are many strong environmental and social justice arguments why the capitalist system needs to be replaced. But is it possible in Australia, which is one of the wealthiest countries in the world? Karl Marx wrote,"No social order is ever destroyed before all the productive forces for which it is sufficient have been developed, and new superior relations of production never replace older ones before the material conditions for their existence have matured within the framework of the old society." Have we reached this point yet?

Location: Adelaide Activist Centre, Level 2, 95 Currie St

We see Che Guevara's image plastered on millions of shirts worldwide, but who was this man and what did he really stand for?

Che Guevara was a Marxist revolutionary who fought for the emancipation of all people from imperialism and the domination of capitalism. A major figure during the Cuban revolution, he actively fought to achieve these goals with great courage and compassion.

His place alongside Fidel Castro in restructuring Cuban Society, while facing the aggression of the USA, is an incredible piece of history.
