Why
Join us to hear directly from Cleveland Dodd's mum Nadene and Noongar lawyer and advocate, Roxy Moore.
Cleveland Dodd had just turned 16 and died in a children’s prison.
This is an opportunity to come together and hear directly from Cleveland Dodd's mum, Nadene, discuss Cleveland's life and the urgent changes that his family are advocating for in the justice system that will save the lives of others.
From an interview with the book's author, Gerry Georgatos:
"This book is both testament and memoir — a chronicle of Cleveland’s life and a call to conscience for the nation. Nadene hopes that through Cleveland’s story, change might finally take root — reforms that should have come decades ago, reforms that could have given him a chance to thrive instead of perishing in a place that should have been a bastion of care, not cruelty."
The event will be chaired by Noongar lawyer and advocate, Roxy Moore. Nadene will travel from Laverton to attend the must-be-there event. We will also hear from Ronald Bin Swani, Advocacy Lead at Social Reinvestment WA.
Hear Nadene speak. Ask the burning questions.
Bring a friend along. We look forward to seeing you and to continue the struggle for reforms.
Tickets available from Eventbrite.
