Unrequited Love: an exhibition of original cartoons

Everyone has experienced unrequited love. Sitting by the telephone waiting for a call. Then, when reality is worse than the fantasy, you decide that chocolate is a better partner — after all, it's available all the time. These are some of the scenes from the exhibition.

Walking around the exhibition, you experience all the emotions portrayed in Horacek's work, and particularly find yourself being consumed with laughter. Judy Horacek is a true feminist who can make you laugh while increasing your awareness and empowering you. With her cartoons she highlights the absurdity of sexist treatment of women in our society.

Although the current exhibition in Melbourne has now finished, it's not too late to buy the book, Unrequited Love, and the groovy postcards. The cartoons in this exhibition are an excellent antidote to its theme.

The book and postcards are now available at Hares and Hyenas, Readings, the Brunswick St Bookstore and from Judy Horacek's stall at the Fitzroy Markets.
