New Friendshipment for Cuba
New Friendshipment for Cuba
MINNEAPOLIS — Another Pastors for Peace material aid caravan is rolling through the United States and Canada towards Cuba.
The fourth US-Cuba Friendshipment got under way on October 31 from the western United States. Another dozen routes will begin this week across the US, and two will set out from Canada.
According to Tom Hansen, Friendshipment national coordinator, the more than 200 volunteers will be carrying computers, bicycles, powdered milk and a great many badly needed medicines. Unfortunately, said Hansen, Washington's embargo against Cuba includes banning foods and medicines. Pastors for Peace believes it is immoral to punish people with starvation and sickness for their political ideas.
The 14 US routes will converge on Washington, DC, on November 12, where caravaners will participate in a national demonstration against the US blockade against Cuba. From there the Friendshipment heads north to Buffalo, New York, where it will cross over into Canada for its destination of Montreal. There the donation will be loaded on to a Cuban freighter for delivery.

By now we all know that the rich get richer under capitalism. But many are astounded at the incredible pace this takes place.
"Without Green Left Weekly, freedom of press and public truth-telling in Australia would be gravely ill."
