Feminism and Socialism
Regular readers will be aware of the running advertisement for Feminism and Socialism: Putting the Pieces Together. What you may not know, however, is that this is the most popular of Green Left's ads, based on the mail order response of readers.
Green Left prides itself on its feminist perspective. Unlike the establishment media, Green Left does not patronise its women readers or attempt to sell body image or proscriptive sexuality. Green Left is actively feminist and socialist and an important information resource for feminist activists.
Over the weekend of March 12-13, thousands of feminists marched to celebrate International Women's Day. In the lead-up to the march, this year as in previous years, Green Left actively promoted the activities in each city and helped publicise events through its pages.
On the day of the march, this was recognised by many of the participants, with up to 1000 copies of the IWD edition being sold at marches around the country.
Green Left is a broad and accessible forum for debate that is not afraid to address the ideas of the moment and to put forward an opinion. Green Left Weekly is green, left and feminist — not with one issue every year but with every issue every week. Green Left Weekly — it's your feminist and socialist paper.

By now we all know that the rich get richer under capitalism. But many are astounded at the incredible pace this takes place.
"Without Green Left Weekly, freedom of press and public truth-telling in Australia would be gravely ill."
John Pilger
