Dialogue
The International Green Left Conference over the Easter weekend was a notable success. The conference drew participants from as far afield as Perth in Australia and Brazil internationally.
The main plenary sessions energetically attacked the apparent division between green and left thought, and began the process of a thoroughgoing dialogue. Environmental writer and academic Ted Trainer remarked that "the conference seems to have put the red-green division to rest".
What the conference initiated over one weekend, Green Left Weekly will continue to campaign around well into the future. Drawing the links between the social and environmental crises, seeking to make the connections between campaigns, and putting activists in touch with one another is a key goal of Green Left.
Over the coming months Green Left will be reprinting many of the major talks presented at the conference. Some will excite further contribution, clarification and debate. It is hoped this discussion will move us closer to a greater understanding of the differing viewpoints.
Green Left Weekly is dedicated to presenting the debate, to facilitating the discussion toward informed activity. We draw no artificial lines. Your contribution is needed.
Green Left Weekly — it's your newspaper.

By now we all know that the rich get richer under capitalism. But many are astounded at the incredible pace this takes place.
"Without Green Left Weekly, freedom of press and public truth-telling in Australia would be gravely ill."
