Journos to 'finger' strikers?
Journos to 'finger' strikers?

SYDNEY— Peter Baker, customer relations manager of Franklins, confirmed to me on May 9 that the company intends to fire some of its employees involved in a strike at its Chullora warehouse, after identifying them using videos or photographs provided by journalists.
It is possible that the company is attempting to access unpublished materials in order to identify strikers.
All journalists should strongly object to such a misuse of journalists' materials. Handing over films or tapes in such circumstances is equivalent to revealing sources. Its effect on journalists' ability to cover industrial disputes is obvious.

By now we all know that the rich get richer under capitalism. But many are astounded at the incredible pace this takes place.
"Without Green Left Weekly, freedom of press and public truth-telling in Australia would be gravely ill."
