HIV in Australia
HIV in Australia
At June 30, 1993, there had been:
17,475 diagnoses of HIV
of whom
4258 had developed AIDS
of whom
2786 had died.
Between April 1 and June 30, 1993:
253 people were newly diagnosed with HIV
of whom
42 were newly infected with HIV.
Of people diagnosed with HIV in the year to June 30, 1993:
82% reported unprotected male-male sex
14% reported unprotected male-female sex
3% reported injecting drugs
8% were women.

By now we all know that the rich get richer under capitalism. But many are astounded at the incredible pace this takes place.
"Without Green Left Weekly, freedom of press and public truth-telling in Australia would be gravely ill."
John Pilger
