About two dozen protesters rallied outside immigration minister Chris Bowen's office in the western Sydney suburb of Fairfield on January 10. Police had barricaded the footpath and several parking spaces outside Bowen's office, which was empty at the time, and uniformed and plain-clothed officers looked on as refugee supporters chanted "Hey Bowen, we're talking to you: No Malaysia, No Nauru".
