'Mitterrand approved Greenpeace bombing'
It has been alleged that French President Francois Mitterrand approved the bombing of the environmental organisation Greenpeace's ship Rainbow Warrior in Auckland harbour in 1985.
Two French agents were arrested by the New Zealand police in connection with the incident, which led to a rift in relations between France and New Zealand.
The allegations come in a book published in France and written by a former French foreign minister, Michel Jobert.
Jobert served under President Mitterrand from 1981 to 1983 and says similar plans were discussed and rejected prior to 1985.

By now we all know that the rich get richer under capitalism. But many are astounded at the incredible pace this takes place.
"Without Green Left Weekly, freedom of press and public truth-telling in Australia would be gravely ill."
