Redfern photographer, Jack Carnegie, has documented Sydney people in public places — dancing in the streets, protesting at rallies, attending festivals and getting on with Sydney life. Most of his photographs are taken around eastern and inner Sydney and he has produced images of seniors at a day centre, Sorry Day in Redfern, a series depicting the Lebanese community marching against the Israeli invasion of their country, young APEC protesters and streetscapes of Port Botany and White Bay. His work shows an empathy with his subjects while being, at times, confronting.

Jack Carnegie works as a publications officer for a non-government organisation. He produces photographs for their publications and website. He's a contributing photographer to the South Sydney Herald.
