WA public servants protest for pay rise
Western Australian public servants voted unanimously to continue their fight for a decent pay rise at a 1000-strong rally on the steps of Parliament House on May 8.
The rally heard from Civil Service Association officials that the government had either rejected all of the union's pay proposals or hedged their offers with conditions trade-offs.
"We think the government has just forgotten about the people who deliver the day-to-day service to the people", CSA state secretary Toni Walkington said.
The rally, which was preceded by a march through the streets of Perth, coincided with the handing down of the state budget.
