Students organise against pulp mill
Students Against the Pulp Mill are holding their first forum on March 1 as a way for young people around Tasmania to organise opposition to the Tamar Valley pulp mill.
The forum will have speakers from the Greens, Tasmanians Against the Pulp Mill, and Resistance. There will also be activist skills workshops, such as how to build a SAPM group at school, creating zines, and a political song-writing workshop. Organising Fossil Fools' Day, an April 1 national day of action on climate change, will also be discussed. One of the protest's demands will be for the reversal of the pulp mill's approval.
Resistance supports SAPM as a way for young people to get active in the campaign to stop the pulp mill, and to have a say in the decisions that will affect their lives.
The SAPM forum will be held on March 1, at the University of Tasmania cafeteria, Newhnam Drive, Launceston. For more details check out

By now we all know that the rich get richer under capitalism. But many are astounded at the incredible pace this takes place.
"Without Green Left Weekly, freedom of press and public truth-telling in Australia would be gravely ill."
