NSWTF votes for May Day action
On October 27, the NSW Teachers Federation (NSWTF) state council unanimously voted to "call upon Unions NSW to organise a Day of Union and Community Action to repeal all of Work Choices" for May 1 next year and to make it "the first of an ongoing series of actions to force the incoming federal government to repeal the anti-worker legislation in its entirety".
NSWTF president Maree O'Halloran acknowledged that many Councillors believed there were too few mobilisations in the unions' Work Choices campaign. She said that NSWTF's role was to now move Unions NSW to making the May 1 action happen. During the debate it was pointed out that 67,407 people had now signed the Your Rights at Work petition and Unions NSW expects to collect 100,000 signatures.

By now we all know that the rich get richer under capitalism. But many are astounded at the incredible pace this takes place.
"Without Green Left Weekly, freedom of press and public truth-telling in Australia would be gravely ill."
