Rally for 'Cheney Four'
Disability support worker Joanne Ball will appear before a local court on June 22 on charges of obstruction and interferring with a police officer during the February protest against the visit to Sydney by US Vice-President Dick Cheney.
Police detained seven protesters on February 22, when police blocked protesters from marching from a rally at the Sydney Town Hall organised by the Stop the War Coalition to the US consulate in Martin Place.
Four of the detained protesters, including Ball, were formally charged in court on March 15. Charges were dropped by police against two of the seven, and a 16-year-old youth was issued with a caution.
A support rally for Ball will be held at the Downing Centre Local Courts, near Museum Station, Hyde Park Corner, from 8.30am to 9.30am on June 22.

"Without Green Left Weekly, freedom of press and public truth-telling in Australia would be gravely ill."
