More money for 'terrorism'
The federal budget includes a multi-million package of extra spending on "security" during coming years, according to media releases from the attorney-general's department.
$35.7 million additional funding has been allocated to "national security and counter-terrorism", including for the implementation of control orders against people such as David Hicks, when he is released.
Another $20 million over two years will fund government scare tactics <197> sorry, "the ongoing national security public information campaign", while a further $7.7 million over four years will fund "counter-terrorism exercise" programs.
According to Attorney-General Philip Ruddock, "Part of the $20.5 million in funding for the AFP [Australian Federal Police] will allow expansion of existing Joint Counter Terrorism Teams and ensure that people who are the subject of a control order can be properly monitored".

By now we all know that the rich get richer under capitalism. But many are astounded at the incredible pace this takes place.
"Without Green Left Weekly, freedom of press and public truth-telling in Australia would be gravely ill."
