ASIO no-show on campus

Emboldened by the current right-wing security environment, spy agencies are attempting to recruit at Australian universities.

The Australian Security Intelligence Organisation and the foreign spy outfit, the Australian Secret Intelligence Service, booked a joint stall at the careers fair at the University of Technology, Sydney, on March 27. The prospect of a protest by students against the presence of ASIO and ASIS on campus apparently led the spy organisations to cancel their appearance, but not without leaving a stack of postcards announcing their presence.
