Wearing your politics
STRONG>Neshan
The Australian international exhibition of the badge, the logo and the coat of arms
Pine Street Creative Arts Centre, Chippendale
June 5-9
"A badge is visible on our chest. It is a symbol of a hidden festering injury ... The injury is hidden. The badge is not." So says Ardeshir Gholipour, creator of the Neshan exhibition, which has been successfully exhibited in Canberra, Binalong and Adelaide.
Activists and supporters are asked to submit badges that mean something to them to the exhibition, along with a short statement describing what the badge means to its owner. Badges of any design and on any political or personal subject will be accepted, although no business or advertising material will be displayed.
It is the artist's intent to tour the exhibition to Melbourne, Hobart, Perth, Darwin and Brisbane after the Sydney Writer's Festival. Badges may be returned to the owner at the completion of the tour if requested.

By now we all know that the rich get richer under capitalism. But many are astounded at the incredible pace this takes place.
"Without Green Left Weekly, freedom of press and public truth-telling in Australia would be gravely ill."
